The Blast Off Playground has undergone an incredible transformation over the past three years, thanks to the dedication and hard work of volunteers like you. However, our mission to provide an exceptional play environment for children is not yet complete, and we need your help to take it to the next level.

We are seeking volunteers to assist in rebuilding and installing benches inside the playground. These benches will serve as essential resting spots for parents and caregivers while their children enjoy the various play structures and activities. By contributing your time and skills, you'll play a vital role in enhancing the comfort and functionality of the playground for the entire community to enjoy.

Do you love exploring the great outdoors? Are you passionate about preserving and enhancing our local trails for future generations to enjoy? Join us for an exciting volunteer opportunity to replace stairs on secondary trails connected to the Maple Ridge Trail!

The beauty of our natural landscapes is often best experienced on foot, and our secondary trails offer hidden gems waiting to be discovered. However, the stairs along these trails have seen better days and need replacement. That's where you come in!

We're seeking dedicated volunteers to roll up their sleeves and help us tackle this important project. Whether you're a seasoned hiker, a nature enthusiast, or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community, your involvement will make a difference.

The Born Learning Trail is a United Way community resource that provides valuable opportunities for parents, caregivers, and young children to engage in fun, physical learning activities in an outdoor setting. These interactive experiences promote bonding, exploration, and skill development in a natural environment.

We're looking for dedicated volunteers to help us raise funds and install the Born Learning Trail.

Here's how you can get involved:

Fundraising: Help us raise funds to support the purchase of the kit for the Born Learning Trail.

Installation: Once the necessary funds are raised, we'll need volunteers to assist with the installation of the signs and help paint the experiences on the trail.

By participating in this volunteer opportunity, you'll play a vital role in promoting early childhood learning and community engagement. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers, make a tangible difference in the lives of families, and leave a lasting legacy in Williams Park.

The White Lick Greenway Trail and Gateway Shelter are beloved community assets that provide opportunities for outdoor recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature. However, litter accumulation can detract from the beauty and enjoyment of these spaces. That's why we need your help to keep them clean and pristine for all to enjoy.

Here's how you can make a difference:

Clean-Up: Volunteers will gather to remove litter and debris along the White Lick Greenway Trail and around the Gateway Shelter. From plastic bottles to paper wrappers, every piece of trash removed helps beautify our community and protect local wildlife.

Environmental Stewardship: By participating in this clean-up effort, you'll not only improve the aesthetics of our natural areas but also contribute to the health of our ecosystem. Removing litter helps prevent pollution and ensures that our waterways remain clean and safe for plants, animals, and people.

Community Engagement: Joining fellow volunteers in this clean-up initiative provides an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, strengthen community bonds, and demonstrate our collective commitment to environmental stewardship.

Help us kick off the holiday season with one of Brownsburg’s most magical traditions—our Christmas Under the Stars Parade! Each year, hundreds of families line the streets to enjoy sparkling floats, cheerful performers, and festive lights. To make the parade run smoothly, we rely on a team of organized and energetic volunteers to guide participants, manage staging areas, and help keep everything merry and bright.

If you love a behind-the-scenes role and enjoy bringing order to the holiday hustle, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Volunteer Shift: (5 volunteers needed)

Saturday, December 6th3:30-6:15 PM Brown Elementary 

Requirements: 

Be 18 years or olderBe available to meet with Parks staff the day before the parade for a required safety training Be comfortable directing parade participants and helping manage crowd flow

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Organize and direct parade entries to their correct lineup locationsMonitor walker drop-off points to ensure participants get where they need to goStaff and monitor designated entrance pointsAssist with barricades and signage to keep the staging area safe, clear, and well-organizedWork as a team with staff to keep staging running smoothly from start to finish

Kick off the holiday season by helping us bring Christmas Under the Stars – Winter Market to life! This festive community favorite transforms Town Hall Green into a sparkling winter wonderland complete with cozy fire pits, cheerful vendors, Santa’s Workshop, and family-friendly fun. We couldn’t do it without the help of dedicated volunteers like you!

Join us for a magical evening and help spread holiday cheer while supporting a beloved Brownsburg tradition.

Volunteers must be comfortable using hand tools and herbicides. Volunteers ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own work gloves; all other safety gear will be provided by Brownsburg Parks.

Kick off the New Year with an unforgettable night hike under the glow of luminaries! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make our Luminary 1st Day Hike a memorable experience for all. As part of the team, you’ll help set up a beautiful illuminated trail and support our Naturalist by being a “hike caboose” to help manage the line and ensure everyone has a safe, magical adventure.

Event Details:

Event Name: Luminary 1st Day Hike Date: January 1, 2025 Location: Arbuckle Acres Park, 200 N Green St. Brownsburg, IN 46112

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Trail Set Up: Arrive early to assist with setting up the luminaries along the trail. Help ensure the trail is well-lit and safe for participants to enjoy. Work with park staff to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the evening hike. Hike Support (Hike Caboose): Join the hike as the “caboose,” walking at the back of the group to help manage the line and keep everyone together. Provide support to the Naturalist by ensuring a safe, smooth hiking experience for all. Assist with any participant needs during the hike and help maintain an enjoyable pace.

What to Bring:

Dress for the weather, including sturdy, closed-toed shoes.An appreciation for the beauty of nature at night!
