Help bring smiles to our littlest park visitors at our Spring Stuffies event! Volunteers will assist children as they adopt their very own stuffed animal friend and help them complete a special “birth certificate” for their new buddy.

Volunteer Duties:

Help children fill out adoption birth certificates for their stuffed animals Assist with simple event activities and directions Help distribute snacks Keep activity areas tidy throughout the event Assist with minor clean-up at the end of the night

This is a fun, light-hearted volunteer opportunity that’s perfect for those who enjoy working with young children and helping create a magical experience.

We need your help to restore our natural areas!

Join us on Saturday, March 21 from 10:00am–12:00pm for a Cache In, Trash Out (CITO) event with a special focus on invasive species removal. This collaborative effort between our Parks Natural Resources Team and the Wastewater Department will focus on removing invasive bush honeysuckle to improve habitat for native plants and wildlife.

As an official CITO event, participating geocachers will earn their CITO souvenir/token on the geocaching platform — a great way to give back to the trails we love while adding to your geocaching accomplishments!

What We’ll Be Doing:

Learning how to properly identify invasive bush honeysuckle Cutting shrubs down using hand loppers Applying herbicide to freshly cut stumps (staff-directed) to prevent regrowth Removing and piling brush

No experience is necessary — we’ll provide instruction and safety guidance at the start of the event. This is a great opportunity to learn about invasive species management while making a direct impact in our parks.

What to Bring/Wear:

Sturdy boots/closed toed shoes Long sleeves and pants Work gloves (limited extras available) Water bottle

What We’ll Provide:

Tools (hand loppers and herbicide application supplies) Safety guidance and instruction Water

We’ll meet on-site at 10:00am for a brief welcome, safety overview, and tool distribution before getting started. Volunteers are welcome to participate as much as they’re able during the two-hour window.

Get ready to spread some Easter cheer and help create a hoppin’ good time at Hopping Down the Bunny Trail! This egg-citing event features a decorated trail where local organizations and vendors pass out eggs to kids, as well as Easter crafts, activities, and even a petting zoo! We need enthusiastic volunteers to bring the magic to life by assisting with decoration set-up, egg hunt support, and event tear-down.

Volunteer Shifts & Responsibilities:

1. Set-Up Crew

·       Time: 7:45-9:15 AM

·       Responsibilities:

o   Help set up and decorate event space.

o   Assist with arranging activity stations.

o   Set up signage, tables, and barricades to create a safe Easter atmosphere.

2. Event Support Crew

·       Time: 9:00 AM- 12:30 PM

·       Responsibilities:

o   Help manage egg hunt areas.

o   Keep an eye on the trail, offering assistance to vendors and guests as needed.

o   Help maintain a cheerful, organized, and safe environment throughout the event.

3. Tear-Down Crew

·       Time: 12:15-1:15 PM

·       Responsibilities:

o   Assist with cleaning up activity stations.

o   Help pack up park's booth.

o   Take down decorations, signage, and barricades.

o   Ensure the area is left clean and tidy.

What to Bring:

·       Comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes for moving around in grassy areas.

·       A positive attitude and a willingness to spread Easter joy!

Join us for a hands-on opportunity to help protect our park’s natural beauty by removing invasive plants at Arbuckle Acres Park! Weed Wrangle® is part of a national initiative to preserve public spaces by eradicating harmful plant species. Your help will support the health of our native plants, wildlife, and ecosystems!

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Assist park staff with the removal of invasive species using hand tools and herbicides. Help restore and protect the park's native plant communities by removing harmful plants like bush honeysuckle, privet, burning bush, and autumn olive.  Follow all safety protocols, including wearing provided safety gear.

Important Information:

Volunteers must be comfortable using hand tools and herbicides. Volunteers ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own work gloves; all other safety gear will be provided by Brownsburg Parks.

Help us give one of our community’s favorite play spaces a fresh new look! Join Parks staff for a Volunteer Day dedicated to repainting our beloved Blastoff Playground. With your help, we’ll refresh worn areas and make sure the playground is looking its best for a season full of climbing, sliding, and imagination. No painting experience is needed, just a willingness to lend a hand and have some fun!

All supplies will be provided. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little paint on.

Join our Natural Resources team in removing garlic mustard, an invasive plant that threatens native wildflowers and forest habitats. Volunteers will learn how to identify garlic mustard and safely remove it to help restore healthy ecosystems.
