Park Stewardship Initiatives

Who We Are

The Brownsburg Parks Park Stewardship Volunteer Program is dedicated to preserving, enhancing, and sustaining our local parks and natural areas through community engagement, education, and collaborative efforts.

Program Objectives:

1. Community Engagement: To actively involve community members and volunteers in the stewardship and maintenance of the Town of Brownsburg Parks.

2. Conservation and Restoration: To protect and restore natural ecosystems within the Town of Brownsburg Parks, including removing invasive species and promoting native flora and fauna.

3. Education and Awareness: To provide educational opportunities for volunteers and the public, raising awareness about the importance of our parks and the need for conservation.

4. Sustainability: To establish a sustainable approach to park maintenance and conservation that reduces the reliance on public resources.

What We Do

1. Volunteer Engagement: Organize regular volunteer workdays for park maintenance, trail building, litter cleanup, and other stewardship activities. Promote diverse volunteer opportunities for all age groups and skill levels.

2. Education and Training: Offer workshops and sessions on ecological principles, stewardship techniques, safety guidelines, and local biodiversity.

3. Conservation and Restoration: Establish dedicated teams for habitat restoration, invasive species control, tree planting, and wildlife monitoring.
