Thanks to the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the Town of Brownsburg Parks is excited to host a Pollinator BioBlitz this September in support of the Parks for Pollinators campaign!
What’s a BioBlitz? It’s a fun, family-friendly event where you use the free iNaturalist app to snap photos of plants, insects, and animals you see in the park. Together, we’ll create a snapshot of biodiversity in Williams Park and gather valuable information about pollinators that help our ecosystem thrive.
You can participate anytime during the month of September on your own as a Citizen Scientist – or join us for our special Pollinator BioBlitz Event:
Date: Saturday,
September 27, 2025
Time: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Location: Williams Park, Shelter 2
At the event, you’ll:
- Check in at our booth to learn how to use iNaturalist
- Pick up pollinator resources and kids’ activities
- Explore the park on your own or join our Naturalist for a guided hike to the Outdoor Classroom where we’ll discover pollinators and their plants together
This event is perfect for families, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to make a difference for pollinators in our community. No experience needed – just bring a smartphone or device to download the iNaturalist app.
Can’t make it to the event? You can still participate all September long! Simply download the iNaturalist app and join our project Parks for Pollinators 2025: Brownsburg Parks to log your pollinator observations anytime. Every entry helps us learn more about local pollinators and how to protect them!
Sign up today and help us celebrate National Pollinators Month!
