Weed Wrangle® @ B&O Trail

Description

Join us for a hands-on opportunity to help protect our park’s natural beauty by removing invasive plant species along the B&O Trail! Weed Wrangle® is part of a national initiative to preserve public spaces by eradicating harmful plant species. Your help will support the health of our native plants, wildlife, and ecosystems!

Event Details:

  • Event Name: Weed Wrangle®
  • Date: Multiple shifts available
  • Location: Various locations along the B&O Trail

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Assist park staff with the removal of invasive species using hand tools and herbicides.
  • Help restore and protect the park's native plant communities by removing harmful plants like burning bush, privet, autumn olive and bush honeysuckle. 
  • Follow all safety protocols, including wearing provided safety gear.

Important Information:

  • Volunteers must be comfortable using hand tools and herbicides.
  • Volunteers ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Please bring your own work gloves; all other safety gear will be provided by Brownsburg Parks.
